HaPPY HaLLoWeeN!!

Tonight is our last night here in Idaho, we've had a really great trip. Matt and Jess left this morning and we will be heading out tomorrow morning. We did a lot of ATVing and spent the majority of most days outside in the fresh air. The trees are so beautiful right now and the weather is still quite nice so we were able to spend most days playing in the woods without getting cold.I spent every morning and evening knitting or reading by the fire.
The cabin was perfect. The boys did quite a bit of (unsuccessful) hunting. Jess spent most of Thursday digging in the dirt. Last year my Aunt was walking along a trail on my parents property, looked down and saw a couple of small beads in the dirt. She started digging around and ended up finding nearly 200 of the little beads. She took the beads to the Antique Roadshow and found out that the beads had been brought over from Europe and had been traded to Native Americans. So, Jess thought that maybe if she started digging around the same spot she could find some Native American memorabilia of her own. She didn't find any, but it was fun watching her dig around.I did a little bird shopping. Purchased the cutest salt and pepper set I have ever seen and a set of six birdie coasters.I think I'm going to hang these little coasters on the wall, they are so cute. I also got this awesome little scarf, perfect little souvenir to take home.
I'm kind of sad to be leaving tomorrow but we are going to take two days to drive back so hopefully it will be a relaxing drive back to Denver. Hope your Halloween is happy.

AHhh IdaHo*

We made it! We drove all night Friday and arrived yesterday afternoon. Took showers, put our slippers on and spent the rest of the evening getting acquainted with the new cabin and giving hugs and kisses to all the fam. My parents (literally yesterday) just finished this AMAZING guest cabin and we were the first to stay in it. We saw it last Christmas when they had just started it and now being able to stay in it now that it's finished has been such a treat. My mom has done such an amazing job at taking care of every single detail, it is really beautiful. (my favorite: see the little hideout under the stairs, love that.) Spent some time with my little brother JoSh last night, don't we look alike!?
I'm looking a little delirious here from the long drive.
My little 8 yr. old nephew Derek said, "Tam... your eyes look red. why?"
And today, more family time and some knitting. Tomorrow Jess and Matt get into town so we will get to spend the rest of the week with them. It's so nice to be here.

CoZy NiGhT*

Vito built me a fire when he got home from work last night, I think the cold weather might be here to stay. I hope. I love the change of season so so much. New inspiration, new knitting projects, lots of baking and cuddling. I made some sausage and pumpkin soup and baked some fresh bread. My bread didn't rise right, I had this problem last year and have forgotten how I figured out how to bake in high altitude. I need more practice.

I LoVe FaLL*

I went for a run yesterday and saw so many amazing colors. When I got back to the house I hopped in the car, retraced my steps and collected some fun leaves and branches. The branches will probably all loose their leaves within a day or two but they are so pretty this time of year, I wish they could stay like this forever.

Lots of PiCs**

I had such a great weekend. Friday night we had dinner with Han and Chris and it was fantastic, they are so great. I spent all day Sunday hanging out with Vito, we took Cash to the dog park, he cooked me yummy food, ran errands together. It was lovely.
But Saturday... oh it was a real treat. A few weeks ago I took pics of Cara and now it was my turn! We've had such a fun time and have both learned so much. We are actually meeting again tomorrow to work on incorporating text into some photos. We drove all over finding fun backgrounds and had some fun props.
Here I am waiting for my train. It looks like something from Anthropologie. She did such a great job, it was such a fun time.
Happy MoNdAy!

I've been working on getting some art together for my little gig at Rejuvanest tomorrow. I think I might take tomorrow off to finish some paintings and get my prints in order. I'm getting really excited about it! Thought I'd post this cute little photo of Joanna and me. She is so cute. I went out with her Jessica and Christi on Monday but accidentally deleted my other pics of them. :(
Happy WeDnEsdaY.

Oh WeEkEnd...

why do you fly so fast>>??
My weekend flew by as usual. I spent Saturday relaxing with V, went for a run, read 120 pages in my book, did some laundry. REeelaxed.

Yesterday I went up to Boulder to have coffee with Duce, ahh she's the best. I came home to dinner waiting and warm fire a blazing, drank some wine and went to bed. Man, I LOVE weekends. We are headed up to Idaho in a couple weeks for some serious relaxing and I can't wait!

PaSteLs in the FaLL**

Pastels are perfect for fall.

They're messy, dry, chalky and oh so delightful, something about their dryness and flakiness reminds me of this time of year.
I'm teaching the 4th graders about blind contour drawings and thought I'd do a little practicing myself. Also, something fun.... if you're not busy next Thursday the 16th come to the Highlands (32nd and Lowell). Rejuvanest, a super cute boutique asked me to be their featured artist this month! I'll have tons of prints from my Etsy shop available and a few originals I've been working on the last couple of weeks. Jeanne Connelly from Vintage Renewal will have some of her awesome furniture. It should be a really fun time. Come if you can 5-8pm. Vito and I are working at the Great American Beer Festival tonight to help Dry Dock pour samples. Should be quite the adventure. Over 400 breweries will be there, should be fUn!
Have a great WeEkEnD!

I've BeeN TaGGeD**

(new ptg.)

The lovely and oh so talented BeTh from HINT tagged me yesterday, I couldn't wait to get in on the FuN. I think I was tagged a while back when I first started my blog but I didn't know what it meant so I didn't really do anything about it. But now....

my 7 fun strange little facts

*When I was younger, I wanted to work at a grocery store so that I could work the conveyor belt and type on the cash register. While all my girlfriends were dreaming of being beauticians and nail techs, I wanted to work at Safeway (the only grocery store in town).

*I collect my husbands belly button fuzz (this is no joke) and stash it in a special place until the day I decide what I want to do with it. I started this mad project over 2 years ago and now have quite the collection.

* I have 16 pairs of flats, but that's no secret.

*I paid $800 for my first car by selling my steer (Auggie) at the county fair.

* During the work week, I eat edamame twice a day. One bowl full at 10am and one bowl at 12:30pm after my lunch. I go through two bags a week. I have done this for 2 1/2 years.

*Every morning I drink coffee and listen to talk radio in bed for at least 15 minutes before I hop in the shower.

*The smell and taste of pickles (anything pickled) makes me gag, my mouth is watering just typing this. Oh, and sauerkraut. yuck.

ToMaTOes AnyOnE??**

I picked more loot from the garden last night. It's been getting really cold at night so I'm not sure how many more times I'll be able to do this. We are getting to the end of the season for all the things we've planted. There is so much mint and basil it makes me sad to think it won't all get used. It's almost tempting to pick all of it and donate it to a yummy restaurant so they can make some ultra fresh mint Mojitos. We're talking a 15'x3' foot area full of mint that's about 16" tall. Any takers??
Cassius likes to watch me pick all of the goodies...
He's really good at staying out of the garden. Look..I'm dangling a vine of grape tomatoes in his face and he doesn't even flinch....
EEk! Never mind, he probably sneaks out at night for a little midnight snack.
