Day after.

Wednesday V's mom, sister and I took his Grandma to dessert for her birthday (we went to D bar of course.) It was really fun and eating dessert was the perfect way to spend the day before Thanksgiving. Two days of eating anything and everything I wanted, ahh.. the best.Amy has the best hair ever and if our children don't inherit her hair, I will cry. How cute is V's grandma.? adorable.
And then Thanksgiving. mmm.. perfect.
V's dad deep fried the turkey and it was so moist and delicious, I went back for seconds and thirds.
Hi amy. It's been so nice having the week off of work. Sleeping in, eating, painting a bit, eating again, more sleeping, hanging out with fam...
But tomorrow I've got something SUPER fun planned.
I surprised this B O Y...
with tickets to go see Matisyahu and Trevor Hall..
and booked reservations to stay here after the show. The Oxford hotel is the oldest and most haunted hotel in Denver. EEk! I'm so excited, it should be really fun.
But today I'm locking myself in the basement to get some painting done. I have a big commission I've been working on and should be finished with it today. I'll post pics when I'm done.
I hope your Thanksgiving was HaPpy!

It was a busy busy weekend as usual, but I am so so excited to only have to go to work Monday and Tuesday. I love Thanksgiving.
Ducey is moving from Boulder to Lafayette (to be closer to work) to a super cute cute carriage house. I spent most of Saturday and Sunday helping her paint. The guy who lived there before her painted every wall really dark. Dark blue, dark Green, dark Brown, it was bad. So we painted away and really brightened things up. She is so good at creating fun color combos, I guess that's why she's an interior designer.
It was fun spending time with her, we had A LOT of time to talk. And her new little house is so adorable.
I got my haircut. I love it. It's very Ramona Quimby-ish. Perhaps the adult version of Ramona. And.. I spent the rest of my weekend with this BOy. I love him. He worked a bit and did a little work on the bathroom remodel. (I think the last time I posted a photo of him he was on the phone.)
He built me a fire last night, made me some spring rolls and poured me a glass of wine. It was a nice end to a great weekend.
And.. as for my EtSy UpDate that was supposed to happen this weekend... well.. it didn't.
But this week for sure.
Stay tuned and check back in, I've got some good stuff! Here's a little sneak peak.HaPpY MonDay!

aLmOst that TImE..**

I'm almost almost ready for an EtSy UpdAte. I've been so busy I haven't had a chance to put the finishing details on all my new stuff. ToNs and ToNS of things to come...probably this weekend.
I've spent quite a few hours this week in THIS room. I've wanted to rid our home of popcorn ceilings for the longest time, and finally decided to take it on myself. This pic was one of my "before" pics. It its looking soooo nice. All I have let to do is a little sanding and then it will be ready for paint. I wanted to get the guest room tackled first so that way we have somewhere to sleep when I attack our bedroom. It's such a mess to remove it. I have also been keeping a food log this week and its been really interesting (and challenging). Trying to eat mostly fruits and veggies during the day and a bit of protein in the evening. Have you tried the "chicken" boca burgers? Surprisingly good. I'm thinking about getting my diet back in order to train for another race. It was about this time last year I had the itch to train for a marathon. We'll see.
Hope your week is going well.
I'm so glad tomorrow is FriDaY!

Saturday night we took V's parents out to dinner for his Dad's birthday. We had dinner at Duo and dessert at the D Bar (my new favorite dessert bar) Aren't they cute.
The desserts at D Bar are truly a work of art. If you haven't been there you MUST check it out.
Speaking of works of art... I wood burned a little treat for V's dad. For over a year his dad had this "pet" goose that would come visit him everyday at work. This goose would camp out on his truck all day long waiting for him to return (I'm sure waiting for food). Rod named the goose Buddy.
They had quite the relationship.
Then one day.. Rod went to work but Buddy was gone. He hasn't seen him since, it's been months and months. So I made him this little token to keep in his truck to remind him of his days with Buddy. Hearing his Dad tell the story is hilarious. And last night, V made a yummy dinner.
It was a really lovely weekend.
I'm almost ready for my Etsy ShoP upDate, so check back in towards the end of the week. I'm really excited about some of my new stuff.

I went out to dinner with Han last night and had some seriously good food and good conversation. Five hours of food, drinks and fun. I felt like I was in Mexico at Mezcal.
Toasty warm, yummy margaritas, spicy salsa.....then I woke up this morning and felt like I lived in the arctic.

I spent all weekend playing with this BoY. It's funny that this is the only pic I had of just him (from this weekend) when I was scrolling through pics on my camera this morning. We spent all day Saturday cleaning up the yard and wrapping things up for winter. I filled 10 massive trash bags full of leaves from just the front yard! I was super sore on Sunday. Saturday night we played darts with Joe and Christi. When I saw these photos I was dying laughing so I had to post them. They are so much fun. Christi and I taught together at Clyde Miller Elementary a couple of years ago, she's the best.
Joe's missing half an arm but can still throw darts with the best of us. Hee hee. Okay, he's really not missing a limb but it looks like it in this pic.And Sunday, I had coffee with the lovely Alexis. So cute.
And, last night I went to dinner with Duc and Lanka at my FAVORITE Vietnamese restaurant, Saigon Bowl. After dinner I did a little shopping at the Far East Market and scored these fantastic PLASTIC goodies. Perfect for Christmas.
Hope your week is going well,
HaPPy TueSdAY.

*FiRe*

I built a fire last night and it brought me so much satisfaction I think it might have been the highlight of my day. Vito is usually on fire duty but he didn't get home until late. So.. I decided to take it on myself. I haven't chopped wood since I was 14 and I'm sure I looked very awkward, but oh it was so rewarding. (Apparently, if I'm taking pictures of it.) Then, I turned off the lights and enjoyed the warm glow. Everything had such a pretty orange light reflecting off of it. Such a cozy night.

WeDnesDAy*

This week is really flying by, I can't believe it's already Wednesday. I spent all evening drawing on the couch watching the election results pour in. It was so exciting. I'm also super happy that our local school district bond and mill levy passed. That's good news for teachers, raises in January and now money for building repairs. I'm trying to get some things together for an EtSY update, but (after 2 months) still having computer issues.
And Cassius, though happy about the election results... misses Idaho.
I think he is depressed.
He's now realizing that all of that frolicking in the woods chasing deer, birds and squirrels was really just a tease.
I think he's a bit down with all this extra time on his hands (paws), getting back to the ole routine is really dragging him down. Hopefully a little trip to the dog park this weekend can perk him up.

It's NoV 4tH*

I didn't vote early or mail my ballot in so I will be standing in line for 3 hours this afternoon. Argh.. so lame. I don't know why I waited. I'll bring my book. Has anyone read this?? By far the funniest and most empathetic looks at misfits and outsiders ever written, I'm loving it.
Happy Election Day.
