*FiRe*

I built a fire last night and it brought me so much satisfaction I think it might have been the highlight of my day. Vito is usually on fire duty but he didn't get home until late. So.. I decided to take it on myself. I haven't chopped wood since I was 14 and I'm sure I looked very awkward, but oh it was so rewarding. (Apparently, if I'm taking pictures of it.) Then, I turned off the lights and enjoyed the warm glow. Everything had such a pretty orange light reflecting off of it. Such a cozy night.

Oh I love a good fire - the sound, the smell, the light - perfection.

Building fires can be very satisfying. To be able to make heat without flicking a swtich, genious!

When we used to live in Shanghai, we had to use coal with our fireplace which is quite terrible. Good heat but lots of pollution & soot! Now in Tokyo, we are lucky to still have a home with a fireplace & we use wood - which we don't chop but buy from the home centre. I love building fires as much as my husband!

I just love the way firewood crackles... One of the few things I do like about winter ;)
